[Whatever sharpness began to ache in his chest on Kyle's behalf soon smooths. So they would go together. It's romantic in a way that appeals to his youth: choosing to be with someone no matter the universe.

In the same breath, a new hurt blooms. Someday, he'd have to say good bye to Kyle, a more permanent parting than what he's already resolved himself to. Wilhelm swallows it, the sadness that rises up prematurely, shoving his hands into his pockets.]

I'm glad you found each other. And...I hope you get to go someday.

[He hopes that they get that choice.

As for himself, he's already tired of starting over. Picking up and beginning somewhere else. If he could choose, he'd stay in this world.]

[The difference is that Wilhelm always thought he deserved happiness; he just felt like it would always be out of his reach. Now that he's got it, cupped carefully in his hands, he never wants to let it go. The turn of his head is decisive.]

I don't know where I'd go. My home is in this world.

[In Thorne, despite all its flaws. These days, the concept of home is rooted more in a who than a where. Traveling is fun — exploring new places, seeing new landscapes, trying new things. But coming back to what's familiar is better.]
