The soul vessels had been well-researched by both Beq Lugg and G'raha before they put them into practice, but there's no denying that it had been a gamble. Himeka might have lost all of them while ferrying them across the void and back to the Source. Somehow, it had all worked out and they made it back to their true bodies.
Now, it's their memories which are in question, along with the understanding that this process of closing the shards up is going to take an incredible amount of aether and energy, perhaps even fatally so. They've done their own research as best they could and devised a means of keeping their memories, but who's to say this will actually work?
