EVENT #24: RESOLUTION - IC LOG
Event #24 - Resolution
News of the increasing tremors across Abraxas soon reached the minor territories. Though Nocwich, the Feywilds, and the Nether are more insulated from the effects of the Singularity, they'll feel it, too: intermittent quakes that knock books off of shelves, cracked foundations in old buildings, and large tidal waves that swallow ships and boats into the ocean, destroying coastal buildings.
By APRIL 16, it's clear that something worse is coming. The air in the crater hums with electricity, the ground shaking. For weeks, quakes have spread throughout the region, all emanating from the ancient relic. As dawn breaks on APRIL 18, the sun rises behind the solid stone structure, a shadow of a shadow stretching long across the desert.
As the territories struggle to maintain order, the very fabric of reality itself begins to shatter.
If you have any questions about specifics for this event, please don't hesitate to ask. Because the world of Abraxas is so large, and because so many of you have had your unique plotlines, we are not able to provide every possible detail all in one post - but that doesn't mean we don't have those details to share!
Part 1: Convergence
Within minutes, Abraxas watches the world peel away like old paint. A vendor in Aquilla falls through a shard beneath their feet that reflects the deep ocean of Earth; a Royal Guard in Thorne is swept up into the vacuum of space. What doesn't fall into the shards falls through them, dropping landmarks, creatures, and familiar faces onto a quickly unraveling Abraxas.
Between the fragments of Abraxas's reality, a dark fleshy substance presses through. A raw, meaty film stretches across a myriad of undulating limbs, wet with a thick milky goo. It pulses with the beat of a racing heart, eager to break free but unable to squeeze through. Where it can manage, bone-like tendrils sprout up and wide in any direction, appearing like blackened trees after a devastating fire. Through them, the pulse of life can be felt and seen as the "bark" shakes with each heartbeat.
Veins slither forward from the pieces of reality and encase the Singularity. One by one, multiple shards, large and growing - the source of all things - appear around the Singularity. Through them peer the reflections of another world, turned upside-down but most certainly recognizable to those once torn from their homes: a glimpse of a great modern city, the interior of a spaceship, the stretches of an ancient dark road.

While smaller shards can appear and disappear across Abraxas, catching unaware Abraxans in their wake, the primary "canon world" shards are only in the crater. These are the ones that must be closed, which only the Summoned can reach.
Return
Across these shards, the Singularity's tendrils stretch beyond imagination. No mages are required this time to break down these barriers. Instead, the shards themselves can be seen from the other side, too, frightening passersby as they glimpse another realm amid destruction.
Regular people cannot survive going through the shard. If anyone is curious enough to try and enter Abraxas, they will disintegrate immediately. But the previously Summoned are different. They can willingly enter if they choose. And, in cases where they don't, the Singularity's instability might force them through regardless, opening a shard up at their feet and dropping them back into a world they thought they had left.
Returning Summoned will only remember they were once in Abraxas after the shards breach their canon world. Once the veil has dropped, the memories will come flooding back - and they will realize that the place they temporarily called home, however long or brief, is now in trouble...along with those they left behind.

Because each Summoned is unique, please don't hesitate to ask us about your character's return if you're unsure how it might work for them!
Converging Realities
The reflections of another world are not the only thing breaching the fabric of reality. You realize, with dawning horror, that the pieces of a previous reality entirely shaped by your mind - the Horizon - are pushing through into the physical world...and some of them belong to you. A friendly sheep you created as a friend might bound out of the crater toward you. A monster you trapped in your psychic basement tears through a small village. Pools of lava from your special corner in the Horizon set fire to a flowering shrine.
But that isn't all. Some of you who have been here longest might recognize the portion of an enormous stone labyrinth that emerges through cracked shards the desert. As the light hits them, the walls of the maze shift between gritty granite and glass, flashing iridescent colors. Should anyone approach the reflection, they will find themselves at the entrance of the maze or lost somewhere within it.
Others of you will recall the same sickly-sweet smelling goo that shrouds a tower of oddly stacked containers. Bits of the substance leak out of the shards, staining the sand they land on.
Long ago, you might've suspected that these were the domains of the Gods. Now it's clear that that's exactly what they are: sections of the Horizon, just like yours, belonging to those who carry the potential to ascend.

Across Abraxas
All across Abraxas, particularly throughout the major territories, chaos reigns. Officials struggle to retain control of their population, no longer able to effectively direct their citizens as panic sets in and destruction is wrought over the land.
Kingdom of Thorne
In desperation, the forces of Thorne are attempting to siphon off magical energy in hopes of at least slowing the encroaching threat. While the artifacts and spells they have on hand were not designed for this particular purpose, they are making do.
The real push comes not from Thorne's castle but from Nott. The current High Mage, Mace Hemmet, is inexperienced in the face of such an unprecedented crisis. As a result, Ambrose Rhett steps back onto the stage, once again. He knows more about the Singularity than any mage. It's time for the former High Mage to come out of hiding.
Lord Veda fully supports Ambrose, lending the strength of Nott's forces behind him and offering whatever is needed. Even shelter and supplies for castle mages sent to battle the rifts and a promise to work hand in hand with the castle's forces. Meanwhile, King Rudolph Sidwell - himself more of a soldier than a scholar - returns to Borrel to be with his men. Against his advisor's counsel, he travels out to sea in one of Thorne's warships to rescue sailors trapped under the roiling and shaking ocean at great risk to himself. Queen Lia is thus in charge, and she sees the value in inviting both Ambrose and Lyle Veda back to Castle Thorne.

The Free Cities
Already mistrustful of magic, citizens in the Free Cities are gripped by a multiplying fear. Some believe Thorne is responsible for what's happening, while others grow angry that the end has now arrived due to Marlo's inaction against the Singularity as promised.
Prime Minister Marlo Reiner is in a frenzy. The only thing keeping her from utilizing every resource at the Free Cities' disposal - tested or not - is the calmer head of Quilleth Kaur. It's no secret among the upper authorities of the desert region that the two are closer than simply friends or fellow politicians, and Quilleth remains close by Marlo's side in Portam Hall to present a united front.
Curfew is reinstated. Massive generators are carted to stations along the outsides of the walls to defend them against unknown threats from beyond this reality. The cacophony permeates the desert - a loud grinding of mechanisms and the crackle of New Magic that drowns out everything else. Soldiers patrol at all hours, a rotation of everybody available and able. Outposts and mining operations are treated the same, ringed, and defended as best as possible. Trade and travel between the cities halts.
All the while, the Free Cities' population becomes increasingly restless. They expected to be better protected by their advanced technology and armies - and it's clear that their government and soldiers have let them down.

Solvunn
The normally placid Commune is more divided than ever. Having fostered a deep devotion to the Gods for centuries, extremists and fanatics sing the praises of the end times. Some take to proselytizing the centers of towns and villages or along roads about how the end of this world will bring them together with the gods. Fervent prayer is common no matter the level of faith, and the oldest shrines see an increase in pilgrimages. Some people scatter themselves in earnest, while others hide away in their homes.
As reality crumbles, the most fervent believers begin to throw their most prized possessions into the reflections to be one with the Gods, whether it be material goods or loved ones. Fights break out between families and neighbors, clashing over true devotees and fear for the safety of others. The Elders try to mitigate, torn between their duties to the Gods and their fellow man.
Isar Hart is rumored to be a true believer, but he stands beside his friend and current Head of Council Rowan March. They call for all Solvunnites to return to the Primary Settlement to "take this hallowing moment in reverence. Meanwhile, without a direct call to action on the Gods' behalf, Edda Hagen, despite her recent appointment, is scarce - though some report seeing her on the roads late at night.
The Commune is in chaos.

Part 2: Doorways
As reality splinters further, it becomes clear that the answer lies in the epicenter of the Singularity's crater. Unlike previous crises, there are no officials or territory leaders that will guide the Summoned or make requests of them. Instead, it's up to you to figure out what to do. Logic dictates that one should approach the Singularity to determine the next steps.
A certain God will chime in - and he might be worth listening to.
A certain God will chime in - and he might be worth listening to.
Due to the thinning veil between the mortal realm and the domain of the Gods, the Summoned can now communicate with the Gods through the Network. Using the information they learned from the minor territories last month, plus the knowledge they've gained regarding Abraxan magic throughout their time here, characters can come up with a solution.
We'll outline the solution for players to know OOC, but this does not mean characters can't have doubts or concerns. However, for the sake of moving the endgame plot to its conclusion, the majority of characters should believe it's their best chance to prevent further destruction despite the risks.
RESPOND TO THE GODS HERE.

Coming to Terms
As you work together to gather what you know, it becomes clear that the only way to stop the Singularity from overwhelming not only Abraxas but all worlds, is to permanently seal the shattered rifts - which, according to what you know, will require at least some of you to remain on the other side of the rifts while others stay behind.
The spell must be performed during the lunar eclipse taking place tomorrow night. Everyone will have a brief 30-minute window to perform and complete the spell using various runes learned from the Gods, the Fey, and Solvunn. You're told that you may need to channel an immense amount of energy, so much so that the process could leave irreparable, lasting effects upon you and your soul.
You cannot receive assurance of the outcome. While all sources indicate that this method grants you and the universe the highest chance of survival, it's unclear what the impact will be on you and your friends. You'll have to take that risk if you want any hope of seeing the next sunrise.

A few Gods may fill in the gaps for rifts that do not have a Summoned willing to go to that canon world. For some of you, it would be possible to stay in Abraxas while one of the Gods takes your place. Remember, too, that the person stepping into a canon world does not need to originate from that world. The process only needs someone on the other side.
Defining Fate
You and the Summoned gather into the crater, now expanded many miles in all directions. It's evident that the crater is safest: here, the quakes do not affect you, and though the rifts continue to fracture and shatter, the creatures emerging do not seem interested in attacking anyone within the crater - only outside of it.
Having learned you must wait for the arrival of the lunar eclipse, there is little else to do except spend time together. Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise. You have time to make your decision. You can say your goodbyes. After all, even if this works as intended, some of you may not be with each other tomorrow. And, if it doesn't go as planned...you'll want to get anything off your chest you haven't yet shared.
When the lunar eclipse arrives, you must act quickly, each of you locating the correct rift. You'll have had time to identify each rift the night before, so navigating there should be easy, to a degree. As the eclipse takes over the sky, you begin to experience a powerful rush of energy from the Singularity that makes it difficult to breathe and blurs your vision. While you can fight through this, it'll take all of your strength - and relying on your gifts from the Singularity will help.

And, if it doesn't go as planned...you'll want to get anything off your chest you haven't yet shared.
Things will be relatively quiet at the Singularity's crater to allow characters to have any final moments they wish to have together. They may use the Network to communicate or speak to each other in person! Once the lunar eclipse arrives and they proceed with the plan, there will be no turning back and no time for long discussions.
◎ The spell itself is simple: you copy the runes from the research you've done, drawing them around the rift itself. How you do so depends on the power you possess. You can paint it, etch it with a weapon, use a magical design in the air, mark it using a floral pattern, or so forth. You're drawn naturally to the method that feels most intuitive to you and the power you wield.
◎ Once drawn, you must reach into yourself and channel the power that connects you to the Singularity. Physically, you may experience the following symptoms: a splitting headache; feeling as though you're torn in half or your soul is rendered; an overwhelming rush of emotions; or all of the above. You might feel you can sense the very universe crying out.
◎ The longer you persist, the less certain you are that you will survive the process unscathed. You can try to stop, of course...but at a certain point, you'll be too late and the power continues to flow from you regardless.
Closure
Flashes of light pulse with the closure of each shard. You hear the crackle of glass as the rifts are crushed and reformed. The ground shifts and shakes in every territory, the night air vibrating with chaotic power. This could be everything...or it could be the end. For a terrifying moment, you don't know which.
Your body is suspended in an abyss, a reminder of your entrance to Abraxas. You feel once more a light and the oppressive water around you. As the world stitches back together, the veins on the scorched trees shrivel and crumble to dust. The trees turn to ash.
The eclipse passes. The night is calm. Most significantly, the relic that cast its shadow over Abraxas for thousands of years has vanished. The crater is empty. There is no more Singularity. Yet, Abraxas still stands.
As for you - that's another matter. In your quest to restore the universe, what has become of you?

SUBJECT: Should we do something about the world falling apart?
Anyway, you know, you guys always kept this place really serious and somber. It's like you've never used a bbs before. But it's the time for serious talks --
I'm your favorite patron deity, the infamous Herald of suoᴉʇɐɹɹǝq∀, Umbvagher. No, you can't block me. And you'll hurt my feelings if you try 😢
The Mouth of the Summoned (aka Istredd) and I have chatted already, but it's time bring the rest of you in it. And by "it"...I actually got no idea. No one's seen anything like it but it's starting to look like a problem. Even the OGs are getting worried.
Now, I don't know about you, but I don't want the universe blowing up. I like it here. The mortals are awesome. And the Singularity wants to shut it down. 😓 Some of you are my friends! The world can't end before we get a group photo.
Fortunately, we've got you guys! What do you say we put our heads together?
I'll go first: those daggers you guys helped me find? They're not just cool to look at. They can cut open a 💡tear in reality💡 which seems pretty apropos for what we have going on right now. Not sure if they can help REPAIR holes, but you gotta start somewhere.
Who else has something? Don't be shy.

Istredd | The Witcher
Convergence
Istredd is in the Nether when it begins and he'll be pulling natives out of the range of dropping into cracks, or other Summoned if they seem in danger. He'll go to the other locations to check in on people and have conversations about what's going on. People can gain any information that he had about both the schematics about the gate, Elizabeth's claim of closing a portal on both sides, and what he learned about the dragons and the ascendant nature of gods.
He will visit the Singularity and look in horror of the tendrils covering it and what it means. Parts of his own Horizon will peek its way in with random spots in the library appearing, and for part of the event he will have a little blue leosylph he calls Lara on his shoulder. She's snuck her way out of the library and decided to stay with him.
Istredd will marvel on several of the spheres they can see within it but notices that there aren't any of his own, which is a relief. He points if there's a spaceship or a modern city, amazed by seeing what has only been perceived in other people's memories. He is available for any conversations about what is happening and concerns about what they have to do next.

Jesper Fahey | Grishaverse
Convergence
He will tell everyone who asks about Elizabeth explaining how she closed the rifts on both side and that someone needs to be on the other side to end it. This seems very relevant to their problem right now so he won't hold back! Jesper will make it clear he does not plan on going anywhere, he has a life here now, but he'll talk it out with anyone else who is struggling with the concept.
Jesper will seem a little antsy and unsure of what to do next, waiting for someone to direct him to a solution. There will be a lot of hugs for his friends during this time. Jesper isn't the leader he's a supporting cast and he knows that about himself so people just have to point and tell him what to do. Or come to him to talk about their feelings around it.

Julia Wicker | The Magicians
Convergence
She may panic a little the first time she sees a modern world, thinking it might be hers, but she recognizes a building in it that didn't exist in hers. She's openly relieved. From her Horizon, Hudson the red dragon the size of a cat flaps out to join her, and she is glad to see her. She flies around Julia for the rest of the time.
Julia will tell others about what she learned from the gods and how they might be willing to help them in this last conflict. She visits the Singularity but sees that it is overcome with tendrils and decides that trying to connect with it might be too dangerous in the midst of all of this.

Alucard | Castlevania
Reflection | Open
Bathed in sunlight, Alucard sees what he saw for almost twenty years of his life: home. Warm. Welcoming. Imposing and architecturally impossible, but never Dracula's murder castle as Trevor Belmont once put it. To witness it like this is to see an old friend, and for once, Alucard feels the longing for home. The four years away, the distance and time, it has helped.
The smile on his face is small and fragile, processing the fact that he can see the state of disrepair it remains in. Shattered windows. Smashed stones. Entire holes in the walls. It deserves to be made whole again, the dhampir knows that much.
Motion beside him finally breaks Alucard's focus on the castle. He turns, the smile still there.]

[ As so much begins to descend into chaos, and the people of the Free Cities find themselves growing more fearful of what's happening and what's still yet to come, the Doctor is most in his element. It's not anything that he wants to see, nothing that he prefers for anyone to go through, but he's lived his whole and very long life ever perched on the edge of something's about to go wrong and always following it with, And I am absolutely here to help.
Always here to help. Wherever here, there, and anywhere happens to be. There's never a plan, not really, but there's always the makings of a plan, one in progress, and when things go wrong, his brain just fires on all cylinders as he goes from one thing to the next and the next, fixing what he can. For now, he feels most useful trying to help calm the general population, to step in to support the efforts of his fellow Summoned, to make sure where the leadership of the Free Cities might stumble, there's no one wanting or desperate for something. While he's here, as long as he's here, he wants everyone to have what they need, to be okay.
Which includes the helpers, naturally — ]
Are you okay?
DOORWAYS
[ He so rarely sleeps, but on the edge of those dreams sometimes, he sees his old girl, hears that sound that's never left him, that's a wheezing, ebbing and flowing song of hope and home alike. He's been in this world so long, his fingertips far too removed of the feeling of those buttons and levers and that console beneath humming with life.
But he remembers it all, of course, like it was only a blink ago. Months and months and months apart are a drop in the infinite ocean of centuries connecting them. Still, he's missed her, his old friend, the only home remaining, and so perhaps he can be forgiven when his usually free-flowing and not-easily-stopped words are simply trapped in his throat at the first glimpse of the TARDIS parked in a rainy alleyway in Blackpool where he'd left her. She must appear as nothing much at all to anyone else, but to him, well, all that comes out is a creaky smile, a watery laugh, an affectionate, Hello, old girl.
But all that comes out is — ]
You're late.

Lord John Grey ⚔ Outlander
Geralt —
It is common sense that eventually spurs him forward, into action. After all, he has no time to afford wasting it on feeling sorry for himself. One more night, if the gods are to believed. They must speak now, for better or for worse, while they are able.
John finds him seated by a fire he has built, near where they have set up a rudimentary camp. Well — Geralt did most of the work in setting the camp up, though John had done his best to assist and follow instructions. John lowers himself to the rock beside the other man, gesturing toward whatever creature it is that seems to be roasting before them.
"Smells good," he says. Daring his voice to be even and calm when he feels a bit as though he is willingly offering his neck for the noose. It is the last conversation in the world he would ever wish to have, but have it they must. He supposes he can be forgiven for easing into it.

iris
He devotes the bulk of his hours to Iris. Love is another sort of garden.
Then all hell breaks loose, as it has a tendency to do. The world fragments, and through the cracks slip pieces of far-off places. Monsters, torrents of ocean, flows of lava. There was a time when Wilhelm was helpless, when the best thing he could have done was to run and hide and stay out of the way. Now he can fight. Now he can protect the people he loves.
Piece by piece, a plan comes together. Not a stop-gap measure to stem the chaos, but a permanent solution. Whatever happens, it will be the end of something — and, hopefully, a beginning too.
The night before the lunar eclipse, when they will all gather together one last time in the Singularity's crater, Wilhelm lies with his head in Iris' lap and their hands knotted over his bare chest. He teeters on the precipice of a decision that he thought would be easy to make.
"What are we gonna do?"
One thing he's sure of. It's not a question of I or you, but we.

Which is a strange feeling, given how much chaos has unfolded across all of Abraxas recently. Steve's fought off monsters that came through the shards made in reality; he's tried to help unsuspecting natives from falling into some abyss that opened up at their feet; he's done a lot of talking with other Summoned as they tried to figure out how to fix all this, and even spoke with gods.
Now, though, they've come to their conclusions, they have a plan, and all they can do is wait. Some will be staying here, others returning to their homes. While everyone seems to have the choice to do what they want, their choices are permanent — meaning it's time to say goodbye to a whole lot of people.
On top of that, Steve doesn't actually know what will happen to him when he steps through the rift. Where in time will he end up? Will he be separated from Sam and the others? It's impossible to know, and so they're just going to have to take a leap of faith.
He sits somewhere in the crater under the shadow of the Singularity with a simple sketchbook in his lap. It's not much, but if he can make some sketches to leave with those who are staying behind, it'll be something. A nice memento.
When he hears footsteps approaching, he glances up to see that it's Hilda. He shoots her a small smile, then gestures for her to come sit if she wants. ]

Stranger still, a familiar screech calls his attention to the sky as a familiar white wyvern appears and becomes part of their group. Sahar might’ve been baby sized for some time but she’s an adult now, and that means he’s back to flying as much as he dares. Some of those flights might be to survey what’s going on or move supplies - but a lot of it is to clear his mind or simply for the joy of it since that much never changes even with a three year break from flight. The good news is that with the wyvern now full grown, and despite everything going on when it might be best for their attention to be focused elsewhere... there’s always joining him for a flight!
More seriously, he’ll also spend some time examining those tendrils which feel far too familiar, in some ways, to the Pit. Reluctant to get too close but too intrigued by the appearance of things they don’t know, Claude will crouch down by them to study them from just far enough away. A near miss with the goo might send him stumbling backwards into someone else also investigating.
For the most part, though, now that they’ve left the Free Cities behind: his focus will be on repairing whatever’s needed around the Feywilds. Help with whatever he’s working on will be appreciated. ]

Nadine Cross | The Stand | The World
Convergence - OTA
That doubles when the tremors hit, and all hell breaks loose. Hell has broken loose before, to varying degrees, but something about this is different. They've known. She's had more than one conversation about the Singularity and the state of the world, none of them terribly positive. This is what it's been building to, this is what's been coming.
She wastes no time in jumping to action. Wherever she may be needed, she'll be there, doctor's bag on her shoulder and spells at the ready. This world has become her home. This place, the life she's found here, has given her everything she'd ever been promised and denied, again and again. This is where she's found family, a second calling, someone to share her life with. In this world, she's done good.
She's going to continue to do good. God knows what's coming, how this is going to end, but like hell she's not going to do everything she can.
Wherever she finds someone is calling for aide, whether it be healing or protection, Nadine will do her best. She's actively seeking ways to help, and is easily flagged down.
Though sometimes, once the Horizon starts spilling into reality, she will be followed by...a cow? It looks eerily like a cow ought to look. It's black and white. It has hooves. It chews cud and says 'moo'. But there's a vague sort of quality to it, as though it's not quite finished. Almost like a cow from a painted play backdrop. The eyes want to slide over it, refuse to focus properly.
Nadine is trying to ignore it.

Cid Telamon | FFXVI | Closed to CR
Cid has done his best to procure food and drink, though it will be a somewhat rudimentary feast unless his guests decide to make a contribution. Mostly there's roasted meat and fruit, and a few bottles of wine that are probably old enough to go to the university. Who knows where they even came from. ]
Wouldn't eat that one, actually. It's for... decoration. From what Elizabeth's told us, it might taste like heaven, or it might send you there — and you've got other places to be, I'd wager.
[ He'll just as easily go to their venue of choice if this doesn't suit their liking.
If anyone wants a more custom starter, just let me know! ]

Though Thancred has tried to help where and when he can, knowing that Cid and Jesper need the extra hands. He's leaving, yes, but he wants to know that those who remain here will be well taken care of, and seeing this place start to come together — it gives him hope that everything will be just fine.
Now isn't the time for work, though. The lunar eclipse is tomorrow and they have little time left to make the rounds and say their goodbyes. In truth, Himeka and Thancred have done this before, when they left the First. They're no strangers to it.
It doesn't make it any less bittersweet, especially when they don't know exactly what will happen when they step through the shards and return to Eorzea. On top of knowing that they may never be able to return to this place and see their friends again — though Y'shtola might have something to say about that.
Still, Thancred doesn't want these goodbyes to be somber ones. He and Himeka arrive with plenty of ingredients to make a decent meal; Thancred's done plenty of foraging around the Feywilds with Elizabeth's counsel, allowing them to build up their food stores decently well. He'd told Himeka about Elizabeth's favorite food — a type of flatbread — and of course she wants to make it. Along with a few others dishes, because it's Himeka.
Thancred chuckles at Cid's commentary. ] We do, as a matter of fact. But don't you worry, we've come prepared. Would you expect any different from our resident culinarian? [ Said with a fond look in Himeka's direction. ]

Thor Odinson | MCU | Closed to old CR
He was fortunate that they were already on their way back to Earth, so Love could be left in the care of his friends in New Asgard. Thor had insisted on traversing the rifts himself — Earth needed Valkyrie and Sif.
Abraxas has clearly changed in his absence, and not for the better. What nostalgia he might feel is short-lived amidst the concern. He spins Mjolnir's familiar weight in his hand and speeds off to search for the Summoned.
Thor will send a message on the network to any of his remaining CR and fill them in on what's going on back home. I'll mostly be handwaving that bit, so this is for threading out final goodbyes. Thor will be going home after this little adventure, but he would like to see off his old friends!
If you want to do a more action-y thread, he'll be actively involved with saving people from rifts and making sure no one gets crushed by an errant spaceship falling through a hole in the sky or anything like that. He will, of course, make a dramatic entrance as thunderclouds boom with some pretty bangin music. Yeah, it's coming from the sky. It's fine, don't worry about it.
For something more low-key, he's probably invited them for a last round of drinks before the rifts close for good. Maybe they can play lift-the-hammer again, for old times' sake? Thor will be quite merrily drunk, or at least appear that way. He hasn't really cut loose since he became a father, after all. ]

she has seen him already back in solvunn (the treehouse was loud with his presence) and they did a little catching up before helping out around the commune, but now that it is clear that they are to wait for one final rite to mend the rifts, perhaps it is time for a real catch-up. he drinks, has always been enthusiastic about it, and wanda approaches him. )
I think I could get one drink out of your hands to give your liver a break.
( she is inviting herself to be around him, even if she won't drink as much as him, or too much at all. wanda is pretty sure that, as a norse god, his liver is perfectly fine. )

He's shouting.
How exactly they got to this point is anyone's guess. How quick it took Lucifer to burst out is another.
"You could just stay! It's not that hard!" He throws his arms open wide to indicate the crater around them. "Abraxas is our oyster. They haven't been able to contain us again. We know you don't have to ascend down the road so you... you don't have to worry about whatever problems you had the last time! It's all different, that's the point! 🌊 himeka
In truth, Thancred and Himeka have been here before. The soul vessels had been well-researched by both Beq Lugg and G'raha before they put them into practice, but there's no denying that it had been a gamble. Himeka might have lost all of them while ferrying them across the void and back to the Source. Somehow, it had all worked out and they made it back to their true bodies.
Now, it's their memories which are in question, along with the understanding that this process of closing the shards up is going to take an incredible amount of aether and energy, perhaps even fatally so. They've done their own research as best they could and devised a means of keeping their memories, but who's to say this will actually work?
So much hangs in the balance, just as the Singularity hangs over them now.
Thancred glances over to where Himeka's seated next to him in the shadow of the monolith. She's even more quiet than usual. She's got a lot on their mind; they both do. His nutkin, Guò, returned to him by Alucard, perches on his shoulder. He'll need to go back with them too — back to where they belong. ]
Have we forgotten anything?
[ It's not like they can take too much back with them — just what they can carry, really, and that includes the items enchanted to hold their memories. But the finality of what they're about to do is certainly weighing on him, like an itch he can't quite scratch. ]

goodbyes & fakeout goodbyes, he’s not actually leaving in the end; ota
Robin and Steve keep telling him that they’ll figure it out and it will be fine, but the reassurance doesn’t help to soothe him. If he doesn’t drop dead the minute he steps though the doorway, then he’s still a wanted man. He can’t just go back to his life in Indiana as if 1986 never happened. So where does that leave him? Where does he go?
He’s uncharacteristically quiet for a large chunk of the evening, biting his nails to nubs and staring into he middle distance. ]
Hey—

Ciri | The Witcher
a final choice.
When the world begins to crumble and the Spheres begin to collapse in on one another, shattered by the Singularity, she knows. There are others talking about solutions, what needs to happen, runes and godmagic -- but Ciri has always known, deep down, from the moment she laid eyes on the monolith inside the crater, that they are connected. Of course, all the Summoned have their own connections to it; all of them will have their part to play. But in the end, it doesn't surprise her.
There was always the possibility it would need to be destroyed.
She is glad, though, that she chooses her own path; nobody can make her use her power now, and the firmness of that knowledge gives her strength.
Through the preparations and the panic, the world -- worlds -- seeming to fall apart around them, Ciri finds an odd sense of calm. Of purpose.
As the Singularity's power grows, so does her own. This time, she doesn't run. She reaches deep. She harnesses it, and with the sort of clarity and confidence only found in the adrenaline storm of battle, Ciri finds the grounding force she needs to keep hold of her gifts without wavering or losing control. This time, she won't be running away to keep the barriers between worlds safe, running and hoping it's enough. (Nowhere left to run, besides.) This time, she will stand and fight.
Maybe Destiny brought her here. Maybe this is her escaping it.
Who cares?
This is her home. The home she chose, with all the people who chose her.
When the time comes, she stands ready.
farewells.
