There's no rift to Basawar, either, which he knows is what Kyle wants. If the Anomaly works the way he hopes it does, though, they should be able to get back there anyway. Viktor allows himself to hope, because the alternative is unacceptable. He's come so far, and his goal is finally within reach. He won't let it all fall apart now.
