He can hear footsteps approaching outside before the knock ever comes; Geralt waits for the door to open before he looks over. ]
Alive. [ That's about as good as it'll be for now, so he'll take it. ] I'll be out of your way, a day or two.
[ It's not quite an apology, but he's aware he'd not exactly asked before he bled all over Lloyd's (shared?) room and then passed out in it. He needn't be told; the man's scent is fairly prominent throughout, along with Julie's. If he were the sort to feel awkward, he might have, but he isn't. Mostly, he's just not interested in overstaying his welcome, a long ingrained wariness that can't help rising every time he's facing a stranger. They might've spoken once, but to Geralt, they hardly know each other. ]

Alive. He'll take it. With the lack of medical shit in this place, he's lucky he's not gangrenous or anything like that. Lloyd waves off his suggestion and moves to lean one arm against one of the posts at the end of the bed, the other hand in a fist resting at his hip. ]
You're already here. Least you could do for Jules and Nadine is make sure you don't die or ruin their work. Besides, if you leave so soon, it'll be my ass in trouble. I'm not exactly looking to get chewed the fuck out for giving you the boot earlier than you're ready.

He idly brushes a strand of damp hair out of his mouth. His gaze is fixed on Lloyd, curious. ] Nadine tells me all of you intend to leave.
[ For the Free Cities, specifically, which has caught his attention. He doesn't give a shit about the borders or the politics of it; he's not used to being associated with any nation state in the first place. Witchers have always been notoriously unaligned. But it matters to him, what happens to Julie and Nadine. He'd rather they not be isolated out here, so close to Thorne and yet not protected within the castle itself. ]

Yeah, eventually. We're gonna get what we can from Nott before we go. Wherever the girls wanna go, honestly.
[ They'd already made the decision, but he honestly doesn't care as long as he gets to go, too. He's there to look out for them and try and provide. ]
You goin' back to Thorne?

There's a split second where Geralt is not sure he heard correctly, because to him, that is an absurd question. He tilts his head, like he's trying to decide if Lloyd is truly empty between the ears or if he's got a reason for asking or maybe the man misheard whatever it is Julie may have told him about what'd happened. ]
Why the fuck would I go back to Thorne?
[ He's fled that damn place twice, and this time he hadn't even gotten a convenient portal to step through. Thorne might be willing to grant amnesty to everyone else, but Geralt's fairly certain that door's not one that's open for him. If he never sees the castle again, it'll be too soon. ]

It's another thing entirely to hear it from the mouth of the man taking over his room. ]
Hey, man, I don't wanna make an assumption! I don't know you enough to know you're not one of those 'it'll be better next time' types, ya feel? I wouldn't put it past you to wanna see that fuckin' place burn to the ground, but everybody's got their reasons for shit. Fucked in the head as it may be.

Not that he's particularly interested in seeing anything burn, either. He's seen the outcome of that too often. He doubts it'll do anything except send the fire catching throughout the land. ]
I have people in Cadens. They're waiting.
[ It's all he says about it. He has little desire to get into it, how he feels about Thorne or anyone, but one thing he will make clear is that he has his own to return to. ]

Cadens. Alright, that's good.

[ Four? Both Nadine and Julie have mentioned the man Flagg has recently vanished. Geralt has not pressed too much into the topic. But he's curious who else may be here. There were more than only these handful, wasn't there? Last he asked around? Bucky, at the very least.
He knows, one by one, people have vanished from Cadens. Two that he's heard of personally; others where it's unconfirmed if they may have disappeared or were simply killed—that part is unclear. Just because someone's vanished doesn't mean it's got anything to do with the the summonings or the Singularity. Sometimes people are devoured by a bear or drown in a lake, and their bodies may not be found for months down the line. It happens. ]
