Semi-Open Log
Who: Nadine and various prisoners
What: Visiting the dungeons
Where: The dungeons
When: Post-festival
Nadine is no stranger to the dungeons by now. Besides her frequent visits to Flagg, there are other prisoners down here she's befriended. Who are still imprisoned.
Apparently some are more threatening a threat than others.
And of course there are still plenty of others she hasn't met at all. It's important to know the other people brought here, to take their measure and determine who might be useful. It doesn't look like Thorne is about to let her husband out any time soon, and that's a problem that will need to be dealt with. She knows (casually, at least) a number of those considered welcomed guests, but many of the poor souls stuck down here are still a mystery.
So after she's checked in with Flagg, she turns her attention to the other prisoners, offering a smile or casual greeting through the bars. She's armed with cookies and a friendly demeanor, standing out in the gloom of the dungeon with her white hair and silk tunic.

Maybe, if Flagg hadn't been promptly locked up in the dungeon and used as slave labor, there wouldn't be a problem. Thorne had made a mistake. Nadine doesn't even really them for whatever they'll eventually suffer as consequence, Flagg doesn't let things go.
"I advocated for him and another prisoner. She got out, he didn't. And I got the impression that they weren't happy with me for pushing it."

Not that she's been able to help much so far, but she's at least been able to bring him food and little things, and plan with him through the bars.
"But according to the mages, the people down here are considered a threat and the rest of us are important and they want our help. I don't know exactly what sort of threat or the specifics of the help they want, though. There's a lot of weird magic stuff, I guess, but I don't know much about magic."
Before Thorne, the only magic she knew was Flagg's. And the one little trick she possessed, which was connected to him.

She eyes Nadine, considering the plate of cookies hopefully, and asks, "I take it yours does? Have magic?"

She offers another cookie, not missing the way the girl's eyeing them.
"I'm just open minded, I guess. I was taught miracles are real, and miracles sure sounded like magic to me."

Boulder had somewhat observed the regular calendar, but Nadine had other things to focus on. Whether or not the year had turned hadn't been one of them.
"But it was 2020 when that happened."

It seems the safest answer. Nadine has no way of knowing which Earth anyone's from, if they're from the past. There was no warning, no long lead in to the end. It had all happened in roughly a couple of months.
"I never made it out to California. Are the beaches really as pretty as they look on TV?"

Since she doesn't know if she's ever getting to go home (she tries not to think about it, actually), worrying about what will happen in the future of her Earth is kind of pointless. Besides, she'd rather worry about begging another one of those cookies off of Nadine.
"The water's really cold," she says, a little wistful, "but that makes it bracing. It really wakes you up, you know? I never picked up surfing, but I thought about maybe doing it when I got a little older."
