Viktor is always better with the precise work, Jayce the heavier big parts. He peeks over Viktor's shoulder, not for the first time, to get a look at the inside. His hands might not be made for little screws, but his mind is working just fine. ]
I don't remember seeing any, I'm not sure they knew what could go wrong. No testing procedure.
[ He sounds disapproving but that's only because he is. As if he and Viktor don't test things as they go, whoops. Jayce turns his head toward Tony though, he is headed to the other ones. ]
Anything helpful in there, Tony?

Hey, you. [ He pushes some of the devices out of place to uncover one toward the back of the box ā whose (aforementioned non-crack-resistant) bulb glass appears to have shattered in transit.
He picks it up by the metal body and gingerly brushes off a few granules of glass, then calls over his shoulder. ] If you call another broken one "spare parts" then... sure. I've got good news. [ He grabs a small screwdriver from his apron as he strides over to Viktor and Jayce. ]
Lemme guess ā feedback circuit got disrupted by the radio transmitter? [ He peers down the open glass section and reaches a finger in to tug up the exposed panel. ]

It would explain the sound, it had to be pitched for a frequency only their hearing could pick up on, so for it to go up to ours, there had to be a miscommunication with the pulse. It must be designed in a way that if one detail is off, the entire machine acts differently.
[ It makes sense to do it that way, otherwise you could easily miss mistakes within the machine if it appeared to work the way it was supposed to, and then wasn't. He's seen that happen before. ]
Look for a twisted or worn wire, it might not be actually broken.

[They're going to have to make note of that, but Viktor is never going to say no to cannibalizing something for parts. He lets Tony set the other device up side-by-side on the table, figuring that four hands will be faster than two.
It doesn't take long to diagnose the problem--Jayce and Tony offering suggestions is not unwelcome, and between the three of them, the issue is found and corrected, with the help of donated parts from the other device. Once he screws the panel back on, he holds it up to Jayce.]
Try it now.

Good job, team.
[ He's a nerd, don't mind him. He moves back over to the box and glances at them. ]
Let's split up and get the other ones done.
