[open] listen to the beats resound
Who: Ches Fields and...you?
What: Open log and catch-all for June.
When: June
Where: Thorne and Horizon
Notes: I'm gonna throw up a few open prompts in the comments, hit me up by PM (or on discord if you have it) to plot something if none of the prompts work for you! Also, I default to brackets but if you prefer prose I'll match styles with no problem!

It's what I do. Everyone who sticks around agrees it's the best way to be, those that don't tend to leave once they've got what they need from us.
[A sense of stability, the ability to control the wolf, the skills to make it in the world as a werewolf, a world that isn't friendly to werewolves.]
Yeah, back home it's only really witches who can do magic, aside from other supernatural creatures that have their own forms of magic, like a dryad doing nature magic, for instance.
[A pause, and he makes a considering noise in his throat at that.]
Wonder how I'd go about finding someone who'd be willing. If it's a skill I have, I might as well learn to use it. No use in wasting resources.

The use of the term "witch" is an odd one, when Thancred is much more used to "mage." Yet it's the mention of a dryad that truly baffles him. He gives a slight tilt of his head, face scrunching in confusion. ]
A dryad? Like a treant? [ It's true that monsters and wildlife throughout Etheirys at times have their own forms of magick, but somehow he doesn't think they're on the same page here. ]
As for learning, I'd start with one Stephen Strange. He's quite adept with sorcery and seems open to teaching others, especially fellow Summoned.

[Ches says it off-handedly, not realizing really how much he's giving away about his knowledge of supernaturals and how it might imply that he is one himself, to have all that knowledge.]
I feel like I've heard that name around here before. I wonder what kind of magic I'd end up doing. Do you know if it's based on your personality or if everyone learns the same things?

[ Thancred is a bit surprised that Ches has knowledge of such things when thus far his story has simply been about taking care of a farm. Perhaps that farm is near a forest? Thancred raises an eyebrow at him over a sip of his drink, pondering whether or not to press on that point.
Perhaps it would be a bit too forward for an initial chat, but it is something that he files away for later.
While he may be the worst person to ask about magick, this question is one Thancred can answer. One could not spend as much time in Thorne as he has and not have a basic understanding. ]
'Tis up to you. If you dedicate yourself to learning magick here, you can choose any sort that you'd like. Healing, controlling elements, creating illusions... [ He waves his hand in the air, to indicate that the list goes on. ] In addition to that, our exposure to the Horizon sometimes grants abilities or physical changes, which we have much less control over.
[ As in, none. ]
