It was a very tense set of words because Jayce is reluctant to risk Viktor in any way, but once they got there, he was temporarily soothed by the collecting crystals. Viktor is experienced and skilled at sorting them and checking on the gloves, it seemed like a safe and helpful approach. But once it started to get to energy bleeding, that's an entire other story.

He may have agreed if it was anyone else because Jayce is not doing well, he is pale and his arm has unsteadily lowered bit by bit as time went on with the glove. He feels Viktor's hand and wants to lean into it, wants to lean into him, maybe lie down, put his head in his lap, rest for a few minutes and pretend this is all over.

But instead he shoots Viktor an anxious look and shakes his head. He can't let Viktor be drained like this. "No, I'm fine." Even his voice sounds shaky. "Please don't."
