Her quip gets an immediate grin from him regarding jealousy as an outcome of that wanting to know everything, a result that suits him just fine. But - that's not as interesting as her mention of sitting in on or balancing books herself since Claude's not entirely sure which Inej means.

"Do you have experience balancing them as well, then? If so, I know other merchants looking to take people on for that as they've tried to hire me but I don't have the time. Which is fortunate for me since it means staying busy, but it'd be nice to pass those along to someone else, too."

They turn a corner back to another busy side street of the main mercantile areas, and he gestures with the undelivered letter in his hand towards it. "Belmont's shop is at the end of this street so if he hasn't left there yet it shouldn't be too much farther. If he's not there there's also a cafe where he goes for a 'break' now and then."

"That's fair enough considering the balancing can be rather tedious. Some of them have been a bit more like puzzles waiting to be solved before the balancing can happen, if that makes it any more enticing of an idea." Which - preferences on that will likely vary, too, and some of them weren't particularly pleasant puzzles given how long they'd been neglected. Getting a system for them established was rewarding, if nothing else.

At Inej's offer to assist however she can if needed, a small trade for the assistance here, Claude sends a smile her way. "Of course, I'll keep that in mind. I'd imagine that being in the tavern and all, you'll come across someone I'll need to find one day. But the same goes for you if you need something in the meantime since it seems we'll all get by here by helping each other out, and I don't mind at all."

Something he means rather sincerely, even beyond just mutually benefitting off needing to complete tasks like these. As they reach the shop, Claude reaches for the door to hold it open for her - some old habits too hard to shake - and with a glance inside confirms that who she's looking for is in fact here before looking back to her with another easygoing smile. "Belmont's inside at the main counter with the register on it. It was very nice to formally meet you, Inej. Hopefully we'll see each other around a bit more."
