I took a hit of heaven
waiting for the sky to drop

"She's working at the relief tents. South of the portals."
He straightens up, shouldering his bag. She can probably find it on her own, but he's going that direction anyhow.
"Coming?"

She knows Geralt isn't much a talker, and she supposes this particular task doesn't lend itself to much idle chatter. She's fine with the silence, good at it in a way that's practiced, almost trained. It's a comforting thing with him, only the sound of rubble crunching under their feet breaking the quiet for a long, several minutes. She likes the type. The kind of people that don't need to fill up the space with chatter, who don't need to say a single word to say a hundred things.
"How long do you think it will take to...rebuild here?" she asks softly, she thinks maybe he has more experience with this kind of tragedy than she does and probably has a better idea of estimates of that sort of thing.

Only when she speaks does he glance over. His gaze returns to the skyline. Smoky, grey.
"Not as long as you think," he replies. The world, it always moves quicker than one imagines. That's simply how people are. Libertas will never be the same again, but when is anything ever? It'll stand in its own way. Perhaps a monument or two. Songs and memorials. "Though some may not return."

She shrugs a little, "Can't say I'd blame them, really." It isn't hard to see that some people may not be able to return if this had been what they'd always known, others will return out of spite, refusing to let Thorne drive them away in fear. Both are good, she thinks. Whatever it takes to move on.
im so sorry this one got lost
It remains to be seen. He knows some are worried about Thorne. But the truth is, his concern lies more in the Cities.
They walk along the uneven streets. The tents ahead draw into view.
"She should be there. Tent to the left." A pause, before he hands Inej the stuffed toy he'd retrieved from the rubble. "Give this to the girl inside. She's searching for it."
It will, he thinks, probably be better received from someone like Inej than him.
no worries <3 & calling this one wrapped!
"Thank you," she nods and the toy handed to her melts a smile onto her face. For all his hardened exterior, there is emotion and care under it. "I will," she nods again.
With that she departs and goes to make her deliveries.
