Come down with fire

Who: Eddie & Carl
When: September
Where: Solvunn
What: Quest time is upon us
Warnings: Probably nothing, just prepping some crops

[ Shit’s not good. Shit’s really not good, and it’s turned Eddie right back into that frantic, nervous person that he hates so much, jumping at every noise and instinctively ready to run away when it suits him. If he wasn’t sleeping before, he certainly isn’t sleeping now, and he’s running on a steady stream of anxiety and shitty Inn coffee. The Free Cities and Thorne are burning. Solvunn has been spared, but for how long? Eddie doesn’t know how the politics of this world work (he doesn’t really know how the politics of his own world work either), but this is sounding like they’re on the verge of full on war, and that’s...great. Just great.

Helping with odd jobs serves as a good distraction, though, and he would like to help however he can. That's how he’s ended up with the least rock n roll job of them all: preparing sacks of grain to send to Thorne. He doesn’t really know what he’s doing, made clear by the way he hesitates with the pest deterrent. He gears up to spray it, then stops, lowers his arm and turns to Carl.
]

So, uh...how much of this do you think they want us to use? Like, I’m not gonna poison everyone in Thorne if I spray one too many times, right?

[ It’s a genuine concern to have right now. Eddie doesn’t want to be the reason Solvunn is dragged into the fighting. ]

[ The last thing he wanted to expect in this place was the rumors of war. Hearing that Thorne set parts of the Free Cities on fire and that some of their country is burning, too? None of it is good. How could they possibly be equipped for a magic war? Guns he's familiar with. The scariest part of a gun is the threat of being shot, but magic? That seems pretty fucking limitless.

Maybe because he's been through a kind of war before that he's able to keep a cooler head about it, though on the inside he's antsy and doesn't feel like he's doing enough to help. Thankfully, there are jobs that they can do to help that doesn't require being out in the thick of it. He'd asked if he could go help run supplies, and at first, he'd been disappointed when he was told no... but he gets it. Doesn't make it suck any less.

Carl stops what he's doing, looking up at Eddie curiously. Well.. It hadn't really been specified, had it? He offers a shrug, eyeing the sack of grain nearest to him. ]

I would guess that it doesn't need to be a lot? Enough to stick to the bag but not enough to soak it? Is that a thing?
