[Even before the official call for aid had gone out, Petra had been determined to dedicate herself to helping with the dire situation in Libertas. The shock of the attack had passed quickly, if only because she’s seen acts of war that were quite similar, an while not on so large a scale, the reaction was much the same: act quickly, and save outrage for later. It would do nothing to bring back anyone who had been lost, and in the meantime, there were still many that they might save.

She is grateful for those who have already organized efforts; the Free Cities are prepared for any number of emergencies, it would seem, and she finds herself among many Summoned being assigned hounds to aid in the search for survivors- and among those Summoned, she finds a familiar face, as well.

Working together will only benefit the both of them, she determines, and approaches Claire with her own pair of hounds walking alongside her, a combination of their excellent training and her own experience with animals making them more than happy to follow. Her expression is somber even as she nods a greeting, reaching to pull a scarf out of the pack of her hip and proceeding to fold it so that she can cover the lower half of her face.]

There is still being a great deal of smoke and debris in the city— we should be taking precautions. I will be watching your back if you would like to be watching mine in turn.

[ Claire's eyes flick to the hounds, then up to Petra. She wouldn't go so far as to say she likes her - meaning, well, she does, but Claire wouldn't admit it, because she struggles with emotional honesty. But hey, Petra's left an impression, and it's not a bad one, and that goes far with Claire. So she finds herself here, teaming up to find and help save some people.

Claire's not quite used to doing the saving part without killing monsters, but... this is good, right?

And shitty as it sounds, just what she needs to get out of her own head. about the ghosts that haunt her. So Claire's tied her hair back to keep her face clear, and mimics Petra with the cloth over her face. They're no good to anyone if they die of smoke inhalation, after all. Something inside of her settles with this feeling of purpose. ]

[Claire is as reserved as Petra remembers, but it bothers her little. She is used to dealing with closed-off personalities even among her teammates at home; often, she finds, it is just a matter of learning to read them and being persistent in one’s efforts when it comes to winning them over. At Claire’s query, she nods, gesturing to one of the hounds that’s come to a stop beside her.]

They are well-trained, and listen as one would expect. I do not think they will be any trouble, and they should be helping our efforts greatly. I can handle them, if you are not comfortable, but you are welcome to try your hand, as well.

[Given that they all have the same goal here, Petra is sure Claire will have no trouble at all, should she choose to try and direct them.]

So, listen... I was thinking, we could swing further down that way. Buildings are more ramshackle, so I'm guessing more debris, not as safe for us navigate - but I mean, someone's gotta look there, might as well be us.

[ Maybe be Claire has a personal stake in wanting to make sure the poorer parts of the city deserve the same attention for rescue efforts, even if they're not as easily accessible. ]

I will do so gladly— they seem as though they will be worthwhile companions.

[As does Claire herself, but Petra is hardly about to lump her in with the hounds, especially since she seems to have no particular love for them.

She listens intently to Claire's plan of action, nodding in agreement— they cannot just leave the more dangerous areas of the city hoping that someone else will get to them first.]

I think you are right. I will let you lead the way, having a strong idea about how we should proceed as you do. It will be more dangerous than some of the other areas, but I am not being bothered by that at all— we must rescue as many as we can, no matter where that takes us.
