reaching for the sleeves of the coat, she makes sure that everything fits his height better.

( he doesn't need to be what he is to know what magic is and as soon as he feels it, his eyebrows shoot up.

[wanda crosses her arms, leaning back against a nearby shelf, and looks at kai for a moment. he really finds no shame in asking questions like this despite her very pointedly making note of it.

she hmphs, raising an eyebrow.]

I don't imagine there is any magic this place could teach me, no. I have my own. [and because she is sure he will recognize give-and-take in a conversation, she posits a question of her own.]

People who are summoned here are either really special or have gone through affliction in their world. Which one are you?

( but he thinks he is. even if his coven had told him that he was abnormal and an anomaly, he'd come to like what he could do.

he wiggles his fingers and steps closer to her. )

[prefacing a demonstration of—whatever it is—with that question definitely gives wanda reason to pause. does anyone well-meaning ever say things like that? she tries not to look too obstructed by his words.

she does, however, stand up as he steps closer.]

( he tilts his head, looking as innocent as he possibly can. )

[hm, he's not really being very forthcoming, is he? well— no matter. wanda is sure that whatever he tries to throw her way, intentionally or not, she will be more than capable at handling it.

Go ahead. [she shrugs, easing her shoulders.] Try anything funny at your own risk.

( there are two ways that he could go about this, he thinks. he could truly show her what he is and unveil that part of his life or he could just act like a fool and pretend.

but, eventually, someone's going to find out about what he can do so why not?

stepping forward, he presses a hand to her shoulder and waits for a second. it doesn't take long before he can feel her magic flowing through him.

it's — stronger, powerful. chaotic. he holds up his hand and she'll notice a familiar red swirling around it. )

[no— not sweet at all. wanda frowns, feeling the unequivocal draw of her magic towards him by some kind of force that comes from him. to see him reining in her magic and letting it flow on his hand—

this weirds her out.

so, wanda does what anyone in her position would do, and draws her magic back unto herself, leaving kai with nothing, again. nothing that is hers, anyway.]

You take magic from others? That would make you — a witch, wouldn't it? Warlock? Sorcerer?

[whatever name them losers (sorry stephen) like to go by...]

( he watches her take the magic back from him and pouts a bit before shrugging. he let's it happen because he doesn't feel like getting into some siphoning fight. )

Seems to me like it's more than a 'little' party trick.

[there is history to powers like that, and wanda is sure there is a whole lore more than what kai is letting her know.]

[no, that's not a threat. wanda knows she's been very nice, accommodating, even, to all the summoned, particularly the new ones. however, this following statement? that's the real threat.]

( he doesn't sound like he's scared. he doesn't doubt that she'd do just that but he doesn't think that she'd expect to see what she sees in his head.

instead, he just smiles. )

Telepathy isn't magic.

[if that is, in fact, the foundation of his siphoning. but to think that he could just take her magic whenever he wanted? that was already pretty dangerous. the extent of the abilities of chaos magic has potentiality for disaster in the wrong hands.

not like hers are that much better, but at least she understands it—]
