[Utter bafflement on Caitlyn's part, because it's tea. Why wouldn't they have tea? Apparently it was some sort of house blend even, they'd seemed quite proud of it. And, to their credit, she'd have to say it was quite nice.]
Oh yes, well of course.
[Mild confusion again, because she'd simply said it was a place where the summoned liked to gather. Why would that imply she thought everyone here was like them? That would be awfully presumptuous. Though she'd yet to learn that declaring her Summoned status might be an issue, but given how clearly new she is to everything it's not like she can pass for a local.]
Forgive me, it's just I had assumed that you weren't from here either. You just look... different somehow.
[Maybe that's not the politest way to say it, but there was something about the other woman that definitely made her seem different in a good way. Honestly, if she was the one doing the picking for something like a summoning, this woman was exactly the sort of person she'd consider.]
Not quite, but I've lived in the same City for my entire life. I've ben outside it, but never quite like this.
[The undercity was also quite large, but it's not like she was going to stay there so it hadn't really mattered too much if she could make her way around it by herself.]

It's not the first time she's heard it. She waves it off, as if literally, with a flick of her wrist. Besides those very distinct features, Ciri's dressed in a fashion popular in Cadens, with a wide belt above her hips that holds a few pouches and a long sheath housing a dagger, the pommel of which is carved into a snarling wolf's head. Her boots, laced up dark leather, end just below the knee.
She crosses her legs, sets the pen on top of the notebook and pushes both aside. ]
How long's it been since they pulled you from the creepy puddle? You found your way here from the outpost, so more than a day or two, I suppose. Less than a week?

Pish posh. Scars are nothing but reminders of things that made you stronger. Caitlyn couldn't imagine judging someone as being less for having one. If anything it further enhances the idea of this current stranger as someone who's capable, smart, and clearly been through a lot.]
Astute deduction.
[Taking a sip of her tea, it only partially hides Caitlyn's smile. Not that she's particularly trying to hide it.]
You're correct. It's not been very long. Though I didn't loiter at the outpost for long I needed to see more.
[Needed to get a better picture of this strange, new world she found herself in.]
I might have returned, but there was no reason to return once Jayce found me.
[Why sign up when Caitlyn could work with people she knew to do things probably better than any military could ever hope to do it? No thanks.]

Jayce found you?
He does have a knack for being entirely too helpful.
[ But the way she says it, casual and almost automatic, Ciri has a suspicion she isn't mentioning Jayce just because he helped her out once. ]
...you know him from before here?

It sounds like you've got some good stories though. I'd love to hear some of them sometime.
[She's starting to realize that Jayce seems to have an extremely large presence with the Summoned here. Since so far everyone's recognized his name.]
We basically grew up together. My family have been his patrons for a long time now. He's the closest thing I'll ever have to a brother.

[ Ribbing Jayce seems to have softened Ciri's earlier grumpiness a bit. She grins. ]
I see. He must be pleased to see you again, then.
And I'm certain we'll all be hearing about you sooner rather than later. [ Jayce does love to chatter. ]
You want to tell me your name, or shall I wait for him to start telling it to everyone with abandon?
