INTRO LOG #2

Intro Log #2
It has been two months now since the initial group of summonings first took place. Castle Thorne, or at least the part above ground, is buzzing with a vibrant air of hope following the 'success' at the Singularity. Eager smiles and excited chattering are to be found in nearly every corner of the castle and surrounding town. The honored guests may find grateful looks turned their way more often than not. A new and brighter day seems to be dawning on the kingdom.

In the dungeons it's a different story entirely. The mood is somber and uneasy. The prisoner taken for trial has yet to return, and no word has come regarding her or her fate. There has been no mention of any further trials as of yet and guards seem to have little patience for unruly behavior or even conversation. Some seem to not even look at or acknowledge the prisoners at all.

[ Feel free to continue threads from the TDM here or start your own! As cell and room assignments will be short-lived due to this month's event, you're free to assume whichever cellmates and roommates you like instead of officially signing up as long as there are ICly no more than four people in a cell or room at once. ]

The wind’s knocked out of Eponine as she lands heavily on her back and Julie’s knee presses her down before she can even draw breath.
Still dazed, she doesn’t even register Julie’s fist until it makes contact with her nose. Blood, warm and sticky, pours from her broken nose, filling her mouth ad she screams and spits it back at Julie.

The girl clearly has the advantage. Eponine’s left seeing stars as Julie slams her head down. Her grip on Julie’s face weakens: she can feel something sticky in her hair.]

Please. M-m-mademoiselle. Please -

[Eponine’s tears mingle with blood and snot as she lies, no longer fighting back, but just accepting the punches, the broken fingers, everything. Footsteps and the jangle of keys can be heard as the guards rush to the cell to see the source of the commotion. By the time they reach the girls, Eponine is dizzy beyond measure, on the brink of unconsciousness. As Julie’s pulled off her, and Eponine yanked to her own feet, she starts to laugh a strangled, painful laugh that sees her wince. She doesn’t notice that manacles are once more being fitted to her wrists and ankles; she can barely stand, but she stares at Julie through the one eye not swollen shut from the fight.]

Fuck you, Madame.

[ It would be dramatic and wry if Julie were to snap out of it and be suddenly guilty when she's pulled off and dragged away. Really, it would be downright comical.

That's not what happens.

Instead, Julie is still lost in a black-out rage as she's grabbed from behind, at least three sets of strong hands holding her back. The guards have to carry her away, because she fights them the whole way, screaming and swearing like a banshee. They don't bother with chains before they throw her in a dark, windowless cell, slamming a heavy iron door shut behind them.

It's only in the pitch black that she comes back around. Her fingers are already scratching at the door.

After a few hours, she eventually goes hoarse crying for anyone to come get her, don't leave her here, it wasn't her fault.

She has to wait several more days at the door before they bring her back. ]
