Adelheid's eyes blink at Eddie in stark curiosity, flitting from the meat towards him and back again. Something that looks like amusement sparks in the wyvern's eyes and Hilda has to bite back her own smile as the meat flops a little sloppily in Eddie's hand. She can't help but tease him. ]
You know I gave you tongs right?
[ But that doesn't seem to matter at Adelheid, or if it does, it only serves to win Eddie points. Her graceful neck extends a little further, sniffing at the meat before snatching it gratefully out of his hands, mischievously grazing his hand with her teeth but not enough to draw blood. A delighted little squeal escapes Hilda's lip along with the breath she had been holding in. ]
Oh, I think she likes you!

[ He flashes her a grin and miraculously, he holds his ground and manages not to shriek when Adelheid nips his hand. It doesn’t hurt, it just takes him by surprise, and there’s no malice in the wyvern’s eyes; nothing to make him think she might be upset or offended with him. ]
Alright!
[ He looks overjoyed and reaches into the bucket for another piece of meat, following the same process of wiggling it between his fingers as he offers it to the wyvern. It’s been proven to work, after all. ]
Well, uh, what next?

[ Or maybe she does. The thought of Eddie dancing with his lanky limbs and hair all over the place is undeniably funny to her. Adelheid seems endeared to the meat wiggling and probably doesn't care how its fed to her so long as she being fed which may not have been the case for Buri or Waffle. Both of them seemed far more difficult to win over.
Hilda motions to the saddle tacked behind the wyvern in her nest. ]
Well normally you'd have to do a lot more courtship, but Adelheid seems to like you well enough. We'll get her saddle on and then we can go for a spin around the monastery!
[ There was no better teacher than experience, right? ]

Yeah, well, seeing as I just got to skip an entire portion of this courtship thanks to my creative thinking? Maybe the tongs are the problem here.
[ He grins, only half joking. There really may be something to say for the tongs, here…but he lets it go, tosses one last piece of tongless, dancing meat to the wyvern and reaches for the saddle while she’s distracted. ]
So that’s really it, huh? You don’t think she needs a bit more…I dunno, reassurance?

Her voice pipes up as she works on tightening the straps of the saddle on the other side. ]
Thanks for reminding me! We usually have to do an interpretive dance of a wyvern laying an egg.
[ Is she kidding? Probably if the mischievous glint of her eyes is any indication. It's incredibly unlikely that endearing yourself to a wyvern involves interpretive dance, but maybe she'll have to start incorporating that into the introduction process going forward for her own amusement. There's no harm in continuing with the joke though even if she knows it's unlikely that Eddie will fall for it. ]
I can do this if you wanted to get started.
