Was it helping? Nope.
Okay. Just rip the bandaid off.
"You need to know a few things. One. My dad's here. And two. I can cause illness. Like actually manifest it in other people. I can give people like, ebola or yellow fever or the common cold. I just found out before I got here and....I wasn't going to tell you. But. My dad's here."
Somehow all that made perfect sense in Will's head. The connection, the word spillage. He hoped Nadine was able to make the connection, or at least probe the right follow up questions so Will could try and explain it better.
"I also glow." If she hadn't noticed that by now. "Like a nightlight."

That's a lot to take in, all at once. Nadine needs a moment to catch up. She's not even sure where it would be best to begin.
But it's alright. It may be a lot, but obviously all of it's a big deal for Will. So they'll just take it one piece at a time. The important thing is to stay calm and not make a big deal out of anything. That won't help at all.
"Alright. Deep breaths. Let's just pick one thing to focus on first, okay?"
Best to let him take the lead here.

"Pick one thing first? I tell you my dad is here and I can cause an epidemic. How do I pick one?" The next part is said at almost a whisper. "My dad is here." Okay, she probably didn't realize what a big deal that part was for Will, who hadn't seen his dad like, in real life, pretty much ever, barring the weird 6 months where Will was oddly older than him. Or in dream visions. Or those odd off field trips they took to Olympus. Or how scary it was that he could accidentally give New York Ebola. What if he lost control or Nico was being extra cute one day and bam, Ebola.
Prioritize. Triage. He could do that....
"Right. Pick one.....my dad is here."

One topic is a little easier to focus on. Nadine nods, recalling what little she knows of Will's relationship with his father. From what she'd gathered, it wasn't the closest of relationships.
"How are you feeling about that?"
While she's relatively certain the immediate answer to that is 'I don't know', trying to articulate might help him process some.

As for Will's answer, Nadine was right. "I don't know. I guess we were closer than a lot of other demigods and their godly parent but....it's still weird? I guess I'm excited? Scared? Waiting to be let down again?"

"I sort of picked up that you and your dad don't have the closest or most traditional relationship. It's okay to feel weird about him being here, and to not be sure what you want. It's okay to be apprehensive."
And it's important that he realizes that. There's nothing wrong at all with conflicted feelings, or being afraid of further disappointment.

"I actually had a pretty good talk with him." Will started out slow, feeling the words leave his mouth. "It just brought up a lot of different emotions, you know? I'm glad he's here, I'm glad I finally have someone to talk too about certain things but...I don't always like the answers I'm getting." That was a him problem, he knew. He had trouble accepting the darkness within him. Especially when that darkness could manifest things like swine flu or ebola.
