Who: Jack Frost + various
When: October 5th-13th
Where: Solvunn, Nocwich
What: Exploring and bothering a bunch of people
Warnings: None for now.
My original plan was to make a general open log for shenanigans, but the welcome mingle beat me to it. Now Jack is there if you want regular Solvunn chilling (ha). If you want something different (like forest exploring) or in Nocwich, I'll gladly put up a top level for you. Hit me up at the cr meme,
buttercupss, or the game server.

Cloud - Goat races (tdm continuation)
[Jack rolls his eyes, putting all the blame on Cloud and not, you know, his own lack of socialization skills.]
I meant the stick, genius. I don't think the locals will be happy if you hurt it.
[To cover more ground, Jack moves further to the left, intending to approach the bushes from behind. The fact he can't make snow and frost really irritates him, because he can see some of the bushes shaking, and he thinks a good snowball would be the perfect way to get the goat to come out.
Instead, he grabs a rock and throws it at the nearest tree, causing a few birds to fly out and some pinecones to fall to the ground... and on top of the bushes, which start shaking harder.]
NOW!
aaah so sorry for the delay
[Or keep it at bay if needed, especially with the way it charged at him. While he's had to deal with animals before, whether it be cats, chicken, or chocobo, this was the first time he's dealt with a goat. And it was proving harder than he would've ever imagined.
As soon as Jack throws the rock towards the tree and the bush at its roots rustle, Cloud stands at the ready, wielding the stick much like one would a sword. If the pine cones weren't enough to spook the goat, the shout definitely does the job.
It barrels out of the shrubbery towards Cloud once more. As it gets close, he dodges the animal, holding the stick out towards the goat's legs. They catch, and the goat trips over itself, stumbling to the ground. It's at that moment Cloud holds out a hand towards it, hoping that in its dazed state, it won't try to attack them again.]
We're not going to hurt you. We just want to take you back.
[Hopefully that'll help do the trick.]
np~
[He's gotta give it to the guy, though, he acts and moves fast. Considering he doesn't have powers, it's quite impressive. For once, Jack behaves and waits to see what happens, not wanting to be dragged into chasing after the goat again. He wouldn't mind if he could fly, but this speed on the ground is simply ridiculous.
The goat is still a bit wary, but it does raise its head to sniff Cloud'd hand. Jack whistles to show his appreciation as he comes closer.]
Look at that! You really did it, Goat Whisperer. You bonded.

We're not done yet. Still gotta get it back.
[Which might be easier said than done. Cloud looks around, trying to see if they find something like a rope to harness to keep it from running off.]
Good call on the rock.
[He regards Jack briefly. When Cloud recruited him to help out, he wasn't sure how much help he would be at first. But he's glad to be proven wrong.]

What can I say? I'm cool like that. [Get it, he's cool. Ahem.] ...ah, thanks. You were pretty fast on your feet, not bad.
[The goat bumps its head against Cloud's hand, getting impatient. Jack chuckles.]
Just a sec.
[He runs toward the nearest building and disappears behind the walls for a few minutes. When he comes back, there's some rope in his hands.]
Change you for the stick? I don't think it'll like it if I touch it again.
[If Cloud grabs the rope and brushes Jack's hand, he'll feel the low temperature, explaining the goat's previous reaction.]
no subject
Guess it now makes sense why it freaked earlier.
[He continues to work as he speaks. He fashions the rope around its body, making sure it can't easily get loose once again. Satisfied with his work, he turns to Jack once again.]
Don't suppose you wanna try taking him?
[He offers one end of the rope back to Jack. At least the goat can keep its distance should Jack decide to take it on the walk back.]
no subject
Being depowered, Jack can't help wondering if animals still can tell what he is. So his need to know makes him accept the end of the rope with a mumbled sure. Still wary, he walks backwards to keep his eyes on the goat, who in turn is wary of Jack.
He can't help chuckling at its expression.] I think this guy is holding a grudge...
[But hey, at least it's following him?]
no subject
goatgoose chase he's been on.]Good thing we're giving him back then. When we're done with that, you won't have to see him again.
[Walking alongside the goat, he begins to feel it bumping its head against his hand, nipping at the tips of his fingers every few moments. He would pull his hand away, hoping it would stop, only for it to repeat the process within a few moments.]
Think it's holding something besides a grudge. [Cloud practically sounds done at this point.]

[Story of his own life, really. I looked at him and I saw myse-- wait. Wrong Dreamworks movie.
The first time the goat nips Cloud's fingers, Jack doesn't think much of it. But then the goat keeps going, and Jack can only laugh. Cloud's sounding so done certainly makes it even funnier, and part of Jack wants the goat to push a little further. But since Cloud threw that compliment first and actually made an effort to keep things civil after Jack was a pranking ass, well. He's feeling generous.]
He's hungry! You should find him some hay. Unless you want him to munch on your clothes next.
no subject
Couldn't it have waited until we got back?
[But he knows that Jack is probably right, and that the goat had probably expended most of its energy trying to get away from them earlier. Begrudgingly, Cloud goes off to a nearby homestead, gathering some hay from one of the townspeople in exchange for a future favor.
The goat perks up once he jogs back with a bundle of hay in hand, pulling at the rope to reach for it before it was even in neck's reach. Unfortunately for Cloud, it still continues to nip at his fingers as he places it on the ground for it to munch on.]
I take back what I said. This is probably as bad as the chickens. [Absolutely done with this goat.]
