Jace smiles wearily at her. He did the next best thing, learning how to make magic work through technology. He loved Hextech and it did give him that high, he knew it was as close as he was ever going to get to having magic in his hands. But a part of him would always be wistful, wishing he was born with it. The first time he did a spell here, he got so emotional he teared up.
"I've been using healing magic for months, but not so constantly at a time."
That is the difference. And he knows too, how it takes time to get used to stamina, it wasn't like he was born like this. He is a hard worker and he practices, but this is an emergency. It requires pulling out all the stops. Jayce is someone who could work himself to death, given the chance.
"How are you, Petra?"
feel free to ignore this if it's too old, life and health have been insane
She gives him another smile, one she hopes will help to encourage him.
"You are doing well, Jayce. Resting will ensure you are being able to continue doing so. The people here are lucky to have you on their side."
War was an ugly thing, and right now, many innocents were suffering needlessly. Healers like Jayce and others participating in the relief effort had their work cut out for them. Her smile fades as they walk, and she shakes her head as she considers his question.
"I am saddened to see all of this death and suffering. I am being no stranger to war, but these people did nothing to deserve what has happened to them."
