[And he knows he isn't the first, so he waves an apologetic hand through the air.]

I'm sorry that you'll have to tell the story again.

Don't let the mages in the infirmary hear that. After what I put them through, they're not scared of anything, and wouldn't shy away from forcing you to rest.

[ when he beckons for the chair for her to join him, yennefer's brow does lift. she considers how much time she has to spare, here. what all she would be willing to share in the first place, and how she might have that either match, or contradict, what it is she told thorne. ]

[Sasarai gently closes his book and shifts around to give her his full attention. If she's taking the time, it's only polite.]

I just wanted to hear what happened from the mouth of the person who was there. Details are important.

Things are probably only going to get worse from here. The more I understand, the better I can protect us.

There isn't much to say- as I was leaving my meeting with the delegate, a heard a soft hissing. A poisonous yellow cloud began to billow out from me, to which my protective spell reacted. It shielded me from the majority of the cloud, but before it fully dissipated, something corrupted in magic of it. It exploded, before I could do anything to abate it, and that is where the majority of my injuries came from.

[ she shrugs, telling the story simply - she's already given it once, it is not difficult to repeat it.

but then yennefer pauses, her attention back on sasarai. ]

I take it you're looking more into the machine that attacked Nott, then? If you're looking to protect the castle, that seems to be the bigger threat.

Yeah, that machine is a problem... I'm just wondering what started all of this.

[He taps his cheek thoughtfully.]

....You said this cloud billowed from you, right? Tell me more about that.

[ yennefer nods, leaning back into her chair. ]

Something had been slipped into the fabric of my skirts. I've been told that the guards have taken it for their own investigation. The Queen believes it to be of the Free Cities making, but between the protective spell and the explosion, I wasn't able to get a look at it myself. [ for a moment she thinks, like she's trying to remember exactly which details she's already shared. ]

It was yellowish in color, poisonous but not lethal.

[Sasarai is quiet a moment, taking this in, then he leans back as well.]

I'm trying to determine if what happened to you really was because of the Free Cities. The answer won't change the fact that we are at war with them now but if it wasn't them we have an unknown enemy out there.

Would you mind if I asked the guards for permission to examine the item?

[ she gives a small, short shrug. she won't say one way or another if she believes it was the free cities, or whether or not the answer changes anything. they are still within the castle walls, she's smarter than that. ]
