[ yennefer does not remember how she arrived back to the castle - the force of the backfired protection spell hitting her directly, and in turn pushing her back into the cloud of poison, her unconscious body taking each breath of the cloud that had been dissipating just as the explosion had occurred. the force of that, in addition to the poison itself, takes their toll on her body - and what makes it back through the portal to thorne is bruised and battered, harbored breathing and out cold.

despite the best efforts of the healers in thorne, yennefer does not regain consciousness for another day or so, and even when she does, it does not make her time there any easier. she will remain in the infirmary to rest and heal for the entire next week, though a good amount of her time spent there will be anything but restful, as she is inherently distrustful of the thornean medics and will be refusing most of what they will try to do, preferring her own healing potions (no matter how much less potent they might be). the pain and her exhaustion will make her irritable and short-tempered, so anyone who wishes to come visit her during these days, especially on the earlier end of the week, will find a less than pleasant yennefer to interact with.

there will be a lack of any blame laid anywhere, though, no matter the discussions around her about the cities and the impending war. if anything, she will be a bit cool and quick to snap to end any and all discussion about the attack made by the queen, something that she will quickly attribute to her general bad mood. though, of course, upon learning about grigory's unfortunate end, yennefer will seem almost lighter. more pleasant. even if it is short lived.

anyone who comes to visit might also find yennefer's two apprentices making frequent, hurried visits to the infirmary as well. they do not escape her moods either, despite her sick leave. ]

classes; (second-fourth week of september)

[ the very moment she is allowed, yennefer will be leaving the infirmary and making her way to her studies as soon as she is able. experiments will immediately start on the sap that ikorr has bequeathed thorne, to an almost obsessive degree. at the same time, yennefer will also begin scheduling once weekly classes that focus on herbology and alchemy open to both thornean students and summoned alike, but where it concerns the summoned she will also be opening up more of her time for lessons in magic in general, which the general thornean students are not allowed to attend.

it is during this second week of the month that yennefer will meep with a thornean official and give her interview regarding the events of nocwich, will be kept straightforward, unbiased, and will lack any free-cities specific information. even as the attacks on the fields between the castle and not leave thorne on fire. yennefer, rather than joining in on the trips out to the fields, will increase production on healing and fire-retardant potions to the best of her ability, which she will be giving to any summoned who come to find her before they leave.

outside of her classes and her potion making, yennefer will be diving headfirst into studying - alchemy, yes, but also the singularity, the history of different types of magic, with a specific interest in stories that involve discovering, or suddenly having access to, magic where there hadn't been before.

feel free to find her either rummaging through the library or working away in her classroom during these weeks. she may seem distracted, and exhausted, and may be sporting a few remaining echoes of the injuries she sustained at the beginning of the month, but will otherwise be in a much better mood than she was then. ]

[ while yennefer's ability to return to the horizon unassisted was something she discovered after the nightmares had finally relaxed, there hadn't been much time for her to spend time there.

which means that even as yennefer is in her recovery bed, or after when she has returned to her semi-normal schedule about the castle, she will find some time to return to the horizon almost every other day. no longer does her form flicker in and out, her connection now firm and solid as she wanders throughout the horizon space. she will be spending some time wandering through various domains, curious as to the levels at which each of the other summoneds' imaginations been extended. or, if she isn't wandering, she can be found spending a lot of time in jaskier's domain specifically, either down in the wine cellars or out in the grass around the large oak.

if you run into her in the horizon, there will be no trace of the injuries she is still healing from back in thorne. rather, yennefer will be sporting a purple travelers cloak, though unlike in those images, she will be very clean and will smell nice, thank you very much. ]
