especially after everything, after everything with thancred, nocwich, the assignments.
then he goes and says diviner of futures and reader of fates and yennefer doesn't even both to hide the distaste of her expression. the disregard. her opinion of those schools of thought are obvious, even more so because of her level of exhaustion means that she isn't even trying to be polite. (not that she would, normally). ]
You mean the Singularity is interfering with your divining?
[ she does not sound impressed, at all, but she asks all the same. but she does seem to perk up a bit when he mentions his ability to heal, how he is willing to help with her recovery, and yennefer's eyes narrow a bit at him. whatever else he has offered doesn't matter to her. ]
What sort of healing? As in the theory- how does it work from your world?

( Urianger merely tilts his head at Yennefer's derision — if he's surprised by her rudeness it doesn't show on his features, but then this is far from the first time he's had his life's passion dismissed with little more than a sneer. As a child he had Moenbryda to speak up for him; in his teenage years she taught him how to let cruel words simply flow around him; and as an adult Urianger is all too used to being looked upon with scepticism.
Fortunately, it doesn't make the magic any less real or valuable. He shakes his head at Yennefer's first question before dismissing it with a wave of his hand: )
I would not trouble thee with the finer details of the matter. My capacity for divination will return with my continued study of the Arcana of this place, and all will be well.
( ... At the very least he can identify when he should keep his work to himself! )
As for the workings of mine abilities as a healer, they are but one of several ways to use magicks to heal. Where White Mages are intrinsically linked with elemental magicks, and Scholars apply the pursuit of ancient and arcane magicks to healing ends, Astrologians such as myself attune to celestial bodies in order to tap into their aether. ( A beat; Yennefer isn't of Eorzea, and he isn't sure how familiar she is with the concept of aether. ) Ah— Aether being one of the very base components found in all things, required for life.
( He continues: )
To deliver unto thee a flow of benefic aether would be to adjust thy fate to one of benevolence, thus healing thy wounds and aiding thine own aether in speeding thy recovery. The reverse would be to tap into the malefic to alter thy fate to malevolent ends, which can be used to inflict wounds and soforth.
( Urianger's astromancy has a lot of give, but it isn't without a chunk of take. )
'Tis my way of supporting my dearest companions in battle and beyond. I would use it to support thee, too, if thou wouldst permit me.
