Thorne - OTA
Istredd usually sits a little distanced from others when eating although he is not against being joined, it simply comes by instinct for him to seek solitude first. He is also seen with books and notes there, often focused on his thoughts or those instead of anywhere else. While he is still building trust in Thorne, he can often be seen training lowest level classes for young mages, usually helping out teachers who have full loads. He is most used for creating magical wards and he is happy to teach others how to do that or create defensive shields.
He might be seen going into town and unsurprisingly at the local bookstore the Dragon's Keep. He gets along extremely well with the owner Thevan to the point where he's started becoming an employee of sorts, or at least a very helpful workhand who keeps everything neat and occasionally gets to take books back in exchange. While Istredd does come off as a solitary figure, he is welcoming when people approach him, not at all as standoffish as he may appear at first glance.

"Thank you for all your assistance the other day. Your input and guidance was invaluable."
Inside, Istredd will find four small, decorative tea tins in different colors, each containing a different blend of tea.

It's not entirely true, but he hasn't had a lot of them, that's for certain.
"Oh, that's ... very kind." Istredd looks inside and it is a thoughtful gesture, he likes tea a great deal and drinks it more than anything else. "I was happy to do it, a lot of new people came and spoke to me." Which drained his energy big time, but it only reassured him that he was doing the right thing.
He holds the box awkwardly, frowning. "I'm sorry I ... didn't know we were supposed to exchange gifts." Is this a custom he isn't aware of? Did he fail it?
no subject
"No, no exchange necessary, my friend. I didn't mean to put you on the spot. It's just a token, to say thank you. It was a substantial ask on short notice. You did a wonderful job."

Istredd hasn't gotten many gifts in his life so even if this is a small one, it is new to him, thus why he wasn't entirely certain what to make of it at first. He holds the box close to his chest and wraps the ribbon around his wrist so he won't lose it.
"I think it is good that you do it, Rhy. I fear we are not as united as we probably should be, and this must go a long way to closing the gap."
Istredd has already expressed his concern to Lucifer that the Thorne Summoned are not as close as the other factions seem to be and that it's at a disadvantage when they're the ones being actively trapped by a monarchy. If this is a step in the direction of fixing it, great.

"I hope so. We are all together in this, whether we like it or not. I just don't want anyone to feel... completely alone. Not if there's something I can do to help."
no subject
"I agree. It is important for us to try and connect more often. I feel as if other Summoned may have a better grasp on that instinct than we do."
From what Istredd has heard, they can be very close, and he still feels like Thorne is disconnected despite all living together. Even now they are having to watch their words though, which makes all of this harder.
"I admit it doesn't come easily to me."
