"Assigned...?" she repeats, canting her head slightly to one side. "And since when does Kaz Brekker take anyone's orders?" she presses her lips together to hide the smile threatening to break across them as she threads a tie around the end of her braid.
Still. She has to do something to help keep herself busy, and this is perfect for that. Especially if they're headed to Libertas. Maybe she could even talk him into going down to the park if one of the dance troupes were performing once they were done. "When do we leave?"

"I didn't say it was order. Merely that while others are off collecting coral, I'm going to be certain I am no where near to be somehow drawn into something involving deep diving."
The disgust in his tones is evident, and she knows how much more it is than disgust, but he tries still not to show that. Not that there is likely to be things where that is forced, but then if he was challenged by someone that would be nearly the same.
"Within the hour, if you're reading. We have two bags of the curios for the children. If you can handle one, that would be appreciated. If not, I can handle them."
He won't assume she can't, nor will he risk her.

“I can handle it,” there’s no snipe to her words, because she knows he’s not implying that she couldn’t, only minding her newly healed injury.
She won’t need much in terms of getting ready, already dressed for the day anyway. She’s not sure there’s much else to prepare. “I’m ready to go whenever you are,” she says, pulling on her boots.

"You always have been," he says, his expression lifting in that small way he often did with them these days. It wouldn't be seen as a smile by anyone else, even if that's what it was.
"We'll be using the portal they have set up." He pauses before adding. "Could you imagine if we had the capability of creating those back home? Would have ended the hold the Fold had rather quickly."
