"It might be," Jesper laughs, now that the jig is up and the pigeon sees them. But it zips from her right past him, and flies down the other side of the roof. "Oh you think you're so clever!" And just like that, he runs right after it, definitely not bothering to be quiet now. In true Jesper fashion he is not really thinking through his choices, he's running after it, eyes on the prize, his instincts helping him to sail over one or two roofs successfully.
But he is no Inej, and he also hasn't learned that not everything here has easy rooftops the way Ketterdam does. He knows that, logically, but when he was moving, he didn't think about it. So he jumps from one and expects another to be at the leap, and instead there's nothing but air. For a few seconds Jesper seems to be in free range air and flails, crashing down toward the ground with a very inelegant and not at all badass squeak.
Luckily for him, he was only moderately high when it happened and he has the type of innate skill that has him rolling as soon as he hits the ground. Except his cage slams to the ground when he does and he rolls into it, banging his forehead against it.
There are people looking and Jesper lies on his back, glancing up toward where he just was, and Inej may still be. "Ow."

Jesper hasn't traversed rooftops in Cadens the way Inej has since she first set foot in the city after the Summit. He isn't used to the strange, differing architecture across every part of the city. "No, wait!" she tries to call out to make him stop short, but it's too late, he's already leaped toward the other roof, with not near enough momentum behind him to make it to the other side.
She cringes as he falls and scales quickly down the building to the streets, missing the more dramatic end of his fall with the cage. "Are you hurt? You didn't hit your head, did you?" she asks, kneeling down next to him, already checking him over for any immediate signs of injury.

"I did hit my head," he admits, rubbing at it. "On my cage." So it's kind of hilarious, in a painful sort of way. Jesper's dazed and he might have a little mark on his forehead, but nothing is unable to be healed. He glances over to her and furrows his eyebrows.
"Are we sure I can't shoot the pigeon?"

She grabs his arm and helps him up to his feet. "Come on, let's go get you properly checked, just to be sure you didn't fracture something." Unfortunately, catching birds is apparently not their forte.

"I guess I should leave the wraith-ing to the wraith." And neither the sharpshooter or the wraith were the pigeon-catching types.
