Inej's eyes widen a bit when Jesper takes off after the bird, more than a little shocked by the sudden movement. "Saints," she mutters under her breath and darts after him.

Jesper hasn't traversed rooftops in Cadens the way Inej has since she first set foot in the city after the Summit. He isn't used to the strange, differing architecture across every part of the city. "No, wait!" she tries to call out to make him stop short, but it's too late, he's already leaped toward the other roof, with not near enough momentum behind him to make it to the other side.

She cringes as he falls and scales quickly down the building to the streets, missing the more dramatic end of his fall with the cage. "Are you hurt? You didn't hit your head, did you?" she asks, kneeling down next to him, already checking him over for any immediate signs of injury.

Jesper is pretty sure he hasn't broken anything, which is impressive all things considered, but he's also afraid of moving and proving otherwise. Except staying still, not his thing. He shifts and he definitely hurts all over, there's been some bruising, he was being an idiot. The knock to his head is likely the worst part which is good luck considering, also that he didn't jump down from the highest option out there.

"I did hit my head," he admits, rubbing at it. "On my cage." So it's kind of hilarious, in a painful sort of way. Jesper's dazed and he might have a little mark on his forehead, but nothing is unable to be healed. He glances over to her and furrows his eyebrows.

"Are we sure I can't shoot the pigeon?"

"You cannot shoot it," she insists, shaking her head and letting out a huff of a laugh. If he's okay enough to joke, he can't be too terribly injured.

She grabs his arm and helps him up to his feet. "Come on, let's go get you properly checked, just to be sure you didn't fracture something." Unfortunately, catching birds is apparently not their forte.

Jesper groans and struggles to his feet. A little woozy, unsurprisingly, stumbling just a little, but he pats his hands over his body, as if making certain everything is where it's supposed to be. Nothing sticking out somewhere. He sighs and looks down at her, touching the scrape on his head.

"I guess I should leave the wraith-ing to the wraith." And neither the sharpshooter or the wraith were the pigeon-catching types.
